Form Analysis Process
Quick Form Study Guide
Studying form can be both overwhelming and time consuming. Here are tips to speed things up and shortlist the most likely candidates.
- Choose races wisely. Focus on better quality races — class 4 or above, Group, Listed and Handicap races. Use the race card summary to scan meetings.
- Shortlist likely contenders. 85% of races are won by horses in the first 5 in the betting. Bin horses at bigger prices than the number of runners.
- Check comments and statistics. Use the button. Bin horses with poor form over conditions or low trainer/jockey strike rates.
- Check ratings. Use the button. Bin horses with red Official Rating or Form/Speed ratings (unless unexposed).
- Check the odds. Under STATS → Odds tab, remove any horse that is drifting or weak in the market.
- Refine further. Use pointer reports and additional stats to narrow your shortlist to 1-2 bets offering value.
- Create your shortlist. Click to shortlist your selections and track results.
The 80:20 Rule
