Today's Tips

Win Value Tips

Our value bets highlight the horses we think have the best chance of winning at value prices (typically 2/1+).  Our NAP is the bet we are most confident with and NB is our next best selection at prices better than odds on. The Lay Of The Day is the horse we think represents poor value and has the most realistic chance of being beaten today.
Beverley 5:00 Scarpeta (FR) 3/1 View BetTurtle Racecard
Longer trip helped on seasonal return when finishing a close up 2nd at Bath. Can build on that performance today with Joe Fanning taking over in the saddle.
NB Southwell 6:05 Keltus (FR) 11/8 View BetTurtle Racecard
All the way winner at Hexham last time over today's trip. Lightly raced over fences, so can improve again and take this for the Paul Nicholls yard.
NAP Chepstow 6:55 Zauffaly (FR) 9/4 View BetTurtle Racecard
Promising turf debut at Leicester last time (had run 5 times on all weather without winning) and this drop in class should help him go one better.

Each Way Value Tips

Our each way bets are horses at decent prices (5/1+) we think can go close to winning.
Beverley 4:30 Like No Other 6/1 View BetTurtle Racecard
Previously trained by William Haggas and has been gelded since. Could be interesting on handicap and seasonal debut for new yard, especially if there is market support.
Tipperary 6:15 Ruby Gates (IRE) 13/2 View BetTurtle Racecard
Has had the obligatory 3 maiden runs and now steps up in trip on handicap debut. Improved performance expected today for the Aiden O'Brien yard with his daughter riding.
Tipperary 6:45 Tap Focus (IRE) 11/2 View BetTurtle Racecard
0 from 9, but with a top yard and went close on seasonal debut last time. Should strip fitter today, with a slight drop in trip in favour.

Back or Lay Tips

We review the chances of today's short priced runners with a view to backing or laying them. Our NAP is the bet we are most confident with and NB is our next best selection at prices better than odds on. The Lay Of The Day is the horse we think represents poor value and has the most realistic chance of being beaten today.
LAY Sedgefield 1:50 Boa Island (IRE) 3/2 View BetTurtle Racecard
Ran well at Exeter last time on return from break. Has only had 3 runs since 2014 debut, so may have a problem lurking and not one to be taking a short price on.
LAY Wincanton 2:10 Drive On Locky (IRE) 2/1 View BetTurtle Racecard
Won well at Plumpton on Sunday, but 2 wins in 32 attempts doesn't bode well for the follow up under a 7lb penalty.
LAY Sedgefield 2:20 San Benedeto (FR) 1/4 View BetTurtle Racecard
Class act over hurdles, but very short price on chase debut.
BACK Wincanton 3:40 Moabit (GER) 4/6 View BetTurtle Racecard
Won well at Exeter last week and should be up to winning this under a penalty.
LAY Wincanton 4:40 Present Man (IRE) 10/11 View BetTurtle Racecard
A two horse race according to the market and main rival has an 8lbs pull in the weights here.
LAY Sedgefield 4:50 Patience Tony (IRE) 1/1 View BetTurtle Racecard
May need further and plenty of unexposed opposition to take him on with.
BACK Wincanton 5:40 Golden Birthday (FR) 4/5 View BetTurtle Racecard
Form choice and with Richard Johnson taking over in the saddle should be able to win this.
LAY OF THE DAY Tipperary 5:45 Etched (IRE) 10/11 View BetTurtle Racecard
Not one of the stable stars in the O'Brien yard and needs to prove this step up in trip will help rather than hinder.

Winning Money With BetTurtle Racecards

We think our race cards are brilliant (we may be a little bit biased) and we are determined to help everyone that uses BetTurtle to learn their power. Here are a few handy tips to increase your chances of profit.
  1. The Horseshoes help you filter the best horses in the race. In general, too much RED and you should avoid the horse. The exceptions are for horses from Shrewd trainers (Gold Stars next to their name), hot trainers or jockeys (names with RED backgrounds) and horses that have attracted market support (GREEN horseshoe).
  2. The horseshoes may change through the racing day, as the vibes and markets change. Click on the STATS button and select the RATINGS tab for a live summary view of the horseshoes and a set of rosettes that show the horses we think are most likely to win at that moment in time based on form, current odds and racecourse vibes.
  3. Watch out for Shrewd Trainers (Gold Stars next to their names) , as they are trainers who have a habit of winning at decent odds in certain types of races.
  4. In the main, avoid cold trainers and jockeys (names with BLUE backgrounds) unless there is market support (GREEN market horseshoe).
  5. Be wary of our win tips if the market horseshoe is RED.
  6. Click the STATS and FORM buttons to see a wealth of information that can help you further.
  7. Hot trainers and jockeys (names with RED backgrounds) are enjoying an unusually high winner strike rate in the past few weeks and should always be considered.
  8. Provide us feedback by mailing us at feedback@betturtle.com

Puzzle Of The Day

Here's where we challenge you to see if you can use the tools we provide in BetTurtle to find the winner in this race, a race we think could spring a big price surprise as we have doubts about the favourite at this morning's prices. Mail us your thoughts/selection feedback@betturtle.com or tweet us @betturtle
Another weak favourite found yesterday! We have been proved correct 44 from 63 times since we started this feature. Yesterday's weak favourite selection Pretty Bubbles finished 4th at 11/4.  Hopefully some of you found the winner, Lyfka at 9/2.
