Today's Tips

Win Value Tips

Our value bets highlight the horses we think have the best chance of winning at value prices (typically 2/1+).  Our NAP is the bet we are most confident with and NB is our next best selection at prices better than odds on.

NB Market Rasen 2:40 Lady Persephone (FR) 7/2 View BetTurtle Racecard
Makes handicap debut today having impressed when winning a novices hurdle at Wincanton latest. Will take the beating here.
NAP Newton Abbot 6:10 Mia's Storm (IRE) 11/8 View BetTurtle Racecard
Won comfortably in this grade at Wetherby earlier this month. With further improvement likely should go close.
Newton Abbot 7:40 Native Robin (IRE) 4/1 View BetTurtle Racecard
Has won both chase starts and can improve further to defy a 5lb rise in weights today.

Each Way Value Tips

Our each way bets are horses at decent prices (5/1+) we think can go close to winning.

Hamilton 4:15 Rosamaria (IRE) 5/1 View BetTurtle Racecard
Makes seasonal return and handicap debut on what looks a very lenient rating for a Mark Johnston horse.
Newton Abbot 6:40 Thady Quil (IRE) 13/2 View BetTurtle Racecard
Makes handicap and chase debut today and looks the type to make a better chaser, so worth chancing.
Newton Abbot 7:10 Unison (IRE) 8/1 View BetTurtle Racecard
Won easily at Ludlow latest and should be competitive again on a 6lbs higher mark and up in class.

Back or Lay Tips

We review the chances of today's short priced runners with a view to backing or laying them. The Lay Of The Day is the horse we think represents poor value and has the most realistic chance of being beaten today.

LAY Lingfield 1:50 Rapacity Alexander (IRE) 7/4 View BetTurtle Racecard
Placed on both starts, but short enough price against a number of unexposed rivals and worth taking on.
LAY Hamilton 3:40 Millefiori (IRE) 4/5 View BetTurtle Racecard
Demolished the field at Ayr on Monday and should go well again under a 6lbs penalty. Up against a few other unexposed types today and worth taking on if very short in the market, in the hope one of them can improve past her.
LAY OF THE DAY Lingfield 4:35 Barren Brook 1/2 View BetTurtle Racecard
Has shown improved form since changing stables, but has failed to win in last 24 starts, so not one to be taking a short price about.
LAY Gowran Park 5:30 Monarch (IRE) 1/1 View BetTurtle Racecard
Has started favourite both starts and failed to win, although unlucky latest when short of room making challenge. Short price though, up against plenty of unexposed rivals.
LAY Newton Abbot 6:10 Aunty Ann (IRE) 11/10 View BetTurtle Racecard
Won easily at Newton Abbot latest, but may struggle to beat main market rival.
LAY Kempton (A.W) 7:50 Al Khafji 6/4 View BetTurtle Racecard
Luca Cumani yard is on the cold list and may need run after a 194 day absence.
LAY Newton Abbot 8:40 Armaans Wish (IRE) 5/4 View BetTurtle Racecard
Won impressively at Ludlow latest, but has to give weight to a number of unexposed rivals and represents no value in the market.
LAY Gowran Park 9:00 Spirit Of The Law (IRE) 6/4 View BetTurtle Racecard
Put up a respectable performance at Dundalk latest, but has failed to win in last 25 starts.

Winning Money With BetTurtle Racecards

We think our race cards are brilliant (we may be a little bit biased) and we are determined to help everyone that uses BetTurtle to learn their power. Here are a few handy tips to increase your chances of profit.

  1. The Horseshoes help you filter the best horses in the race. In general, too much RED and you should avoid the horse. The exceptions are for horses from Shrewd trainers (Gold Stars next to their name), hot trainers or jockeys (names with RED backgrounds) and horses that have attracted market support (GREEN horseshoe).
  2. The horseshoes may change through the racing day, as the vibes and markets change. Click on the STATS button and select the RATINGS tab for a live summary view of the horseshoes and a set of rosettes that show the horses we think are most likely to win at that moment in time based on form, current odds and racecourse vibes.
  3. Watch out for Shrewd Trainers (Gold Stars next to their names) , as they are trainers who have a habit of winning at decent odds in certain types of races.
  4. In the main, avoid cold trainers and jockeys (names with BLUE backgrounds) unless there is market support (GREEN market horseshoe).
  5. Be wary of our win tips if the market horseshoe is RED.
  6. Click the STATS and FORM buttons to see a wealth of information that can help you further.
  7. Hot trainers and jockeys (names with RED backgrounds) are enjoying an unusually high winner strike rate in the past few weeks and should always be considered.
  8. Provide us feedback by mailing us at feedback@betturtle.com

Puzzle Of The Day

Here's where we challenge you to see if you can use the tools we provide in BetTurtle to find the winner in this race, a race we think could spring a big price surprise as we have doubts about the favourite at this morning's prices. Mail us your thoughts/selection feedback@betturtle.com or tweet us @betturtle

Another weak favourite found yesterday! We have been proved correct 54 from 77 times since we started this feature. Yesterday's weak favourite selection Grand March finished 3rd at 9/2JF.  Hopefully some of you found the winner, Stormbay Bomber at 11/2.
