Today's Tips

Win Value Tips

Our value bets highlight the horses we think have the best chance of winning at value prices (typically 2/1+).  Our NAP is the bet we are most confident with and NB is our next best selection at prices better than odds on.

So far in May, we have provided 66 Win Value Tips with 27 winners at a strike rate of 41%. The profit to £10 stakes at starting price is £192 providing a return on investment of 29%.

The NAP won 9 from 22, the NB won 10 from 20 and other tips in this section won 8 from 24.

NB Brighton 2:50 Nag's Wag (IRE) 2/1 View BetTurtle Racecard
Ryan Moore is a rare visitor to Brighton and hasn't ridden for George Baker in the last two years. So it must be a good omen today with the pair partnering with this course and distance winner, who steps back up to 6 furlongs having been outpaced over 5 last time.
NAP Bath 3:30 Barroche (IRE) 3/1 View BetTurtle Racecard
Went close on debut last time at Windsor and with improvement likely, can go close for the in form Clive Cox yard with Adam Kirby taking the ride (he has won on 2 from 3 rides in the past 2 seasons).
Musselburgh 7:40 El Astronaute (IRE) 10/3 View BetTurtle Racecard
Has finished second in good quality handicaps at York and Chester in both recent starts. Races off same mark today and should go very close once again.

Each Way Value Tips

Due to continued losses in this section, we are withdrawing tips for now and will improve and re-launch in the future.

Back or Lay Tips

We review the chances of today's short priced runners with a view to backing or laying them. The Lay Of The Day is the horse we think represents poor value and has the most realistic chance of being beaten today.
LAY Brighton 2:20 Monks Stand (USA) 4/7 View BetTurtle Racecard
Raced 3 times and finished 3rd on second start at this course earlier in the month (has won since). Short priced up against several unexposed rivals. Worth taking on in the hope something can find some improvement to beat him.
LAY Haydock 2:40 Dream Of Dreams (IRE) 3/2 View BetTurtle Racecard
Finished strongly on debut at Newmarket showing inexperience throughout. Should improve, but very short price with plenty of unexposed rivals from top yards to take him on with.
LAY Haydock 3:40 Masterpaver 2/1 View BetTurtle Racecard
Has failed to win in 19 starts prior to winning an apprentice race over course and distance last time. Overall profile suggests he needs to be taken on at such a short price.
LAY Brighton 3:50 Goldenfield (IRE) 5/4 View BetTurtle Racecard
Won easily on seasonal re-appearance at Goodwood last time and Ryan Moore rides for first time. Has been raised 8lbs by the handicapper and worth chancing that one or two of these may be able to run him close at this sort of price.
BACK Haydock 4:40 Trainnah 1/1 View BetTurtle Racecard
Can build on promising debut at Nottingham earlier this month with Frankie Dettori taking over in the saddle.
LAY OF DAY Worcester 6:20 Southfield Vic (IRE) 3/2 View BetTurtle Racecard
Has failed to win in last 7 races and beaten at prices as low as 1/8. So can't be trusted.
BACK Worcester 7:20 Comely 4/7 View BetTurtle Racecard
Ran well on debut at Uttoxeter earlier this month and should improve for the Nicky Henderson yard.
BACK Pontefract 7:30 Yalta (IRE) 1/2 View BetTurtle Racecard
Won on debut at Goodwood and should improve again to take this.
LAY Down Royal 7:35 Duckweed (IRE) 15/8 View BetTurtle Racecard
Makes chase debut and trip looks on the short side, so others preferred.
LAY Worcester 7:50 Young Dillon (IRE) 6/4 View BetTurtle Racecard
Has won last two since seasonal return, but has to give plenty of weight to unexposed rivals.
LAY Worcester 8:20 Marquis Of Carabas (IRE) 3/2 View BetTurtle Racecard
Will struggle to beat Going For Broke on today's terms.
LAY Pontefract 8:30 Peloponnese (FR) 7/4 View BetTurtle Racecard
0 from 4 so far and yard resort to first time visor. Looks risky at this short a price.
BACK Pontefract 9:00 Get Up And Dance 1/1 View BetTurtle Racecard
Started favourite and finished 2nd on Doncaster debut. Can build on that today.
LAY Musselburgh 9:10 Curzon Line 7/4 View BetTurtle Racecard
8lb well in for win at Ripon last time. However, hadn't won in 11 starts prior to that and no certainty to repeat that form.

Winning Money With BetTurtle Racecards

We think our race cards are brilliant (we may be a little bit biased) and we are determined to help everyone that uses BetTurtle to learn their power. Here are a few handy tips to increase your chances of profit.
  1. The Horseshoes help you filter the best horses in the race. In general, too much RED and you should avoid the horse. The exceptions are for horses from Shrewd trainers (Gold Stars next to their name), hot trainers or jockeys (names with RED backgrounds) and horses that have attracted market support (GREEN horseshoe).
  2. The horseshoes may change through the racing day, as the vibes and markets change. Click on the STATS button and select the RATINGS tab for a live summary view of the horseshoes and a set of rosettes that show the horses we think are most likely to win at that moment in time based on form, current odds and racecourse vibes.
  3. Watch out for Shrewd Trainers (Gold Stars next to their names) , as they are trainers who have a habit of winning at decent odds in certain types of races.
  4. In the main, avoid cold trainers and jockeys (names with BLUE backgrounds) unless there is market support (GREEN market horseshoe).
  5. Be wary of our win tips if the market horseshoe is RED.
  6. Click the STATS and FORM buttons to see a wealth of information that can help you further.
  7. Hot trainers and jockeys (names with RED backgrounds) are enjoying an unusually high winner strike rate in the past few weeks and should always be considered.
  8. Provide us feedback by mailing us at feedback@betturtle.com

Some clues to consider: The current favourite in the race is Stosur (IRE) who at this morning's prices is 10/3. Are there any less exposed, better handicapped or classier horses in the race? Turtle Hint:  Click here for the race card and click the STATS button and select HORSE to see what horses are better treated or less exposed. Mail us feedback@betturtle.com or tweet us @betturtle your thoughts/selection.
