Channel 4 Racing Tips

Aintree 1:35 Betfred Becher Handicap Chase (Grade 3) (1) 6yo+
View BetTurtle Racecard
  5  Aachen 40/1
Makes seasonal return today, but has won fresh and won twice last December. Decent chance in a race were older horses win their fair share.

Sandown 1:55 Racing Post Henry Viii Novices' Chase (Grade 1) (1) 4yo+
View BetTurtle Racecard
  1  Altior 4/9
Arkle favourite and impressed on seasonal return. Just needs to jump round to win this.

Aintree 2:10 Betfred "Home Of Goals Galore" Handicap Hurdle (2) 4yo+
View BetTurtle Racecard
  3  Hunters Hoof 11/2
Needs to improve on recent form back over hurdles, but he is 2 from 3 round here and back to last winning mark for a stable that has won this race twice in the past.

Sandown 2:25 Jumeirah Hotels And Resorts December Handicap Hurdle (Listed Race) (1) 4yo+
View BetTurtle Racecard
  7  Wishfull Dreaming 6/1
Disappointed last time, but may have found the race coming too soon and can build on previous form, on handicap debut, when winning decisively at Chepstow.

Aintree 2:40 Betfred Lotto "£100k Cash Giveaway" Chase (Listed Race) (1) 4yo+
View BetTurtle Racecard
  3  Le Mercurey 13/2
Remains lightly raced over fences having won 3 from 8 chase races including a Grade 2 event. Stable won this in 2013/2014 and should go well at and give the favourite a run for his money.

Sandown 3:00 Betfair Tingle Creek Chase (Grade 1) (1) 4yo+
View BetTurtle Racecard
  5  Un De Sceaux 2/1
Clear form choice for the powerful Willie Mullins yard and a clear round of jumping should see him win this. It should be noted he has fallen on debut in each of last two seasons, so no shoe in. The stable are operating at a 44% strike rate and jockey Ruby Walsh has a 50% strike rate in past fortnight.

Aintree 3:15 Betfred Grand Sefton Handicap Chase (2) 6yo+
View BetTurtle Racecard
  2  Bennys Mist 17/2
Won this last year from a 7lbs lower mark. Had a prep run for this in November and should be spot on for a repeat bid.

Sandown 3:30 Betfair London National Handicap Chase (0-150) (2) 5yo+
View BetTurtle Racecard
  7  Court By Surprise 10/1
Off the same mark as when second in this in 2013. Could go well at a decent price for an in form yard.

Win Value Tips

Our value bets highlight the horses we think have the best chance of winning at value prices (typically 2/1+).  Our NAP is the bet we are most confident with and NB is our next best selection at prices better than odds on.
  14  Touch Kick 7/2
  Chepstow    1:40  View BetTurtle Racecard
Potential improver for the Paul Nicholls yard and some positive vibes from the trainer this morning. Yard won this in 2008.

  7  Wishfull Dreaming 6/1
  Sandown    2:25  View BetTurtle Racecard
Disappointed last time, but may have found the race coming too soon and can build on previous form, on handicap debut, when winning decisively at Chepstow.

  9  Coach Bombay 3/1
Wolverhampton (A.W)    6:15  View BetTurtle Racecard
Claimer ridden and ran better than the result suggests at Dundalk latest. Big chance travelling over from Ireland for this today.

  9  Wrangler 3/1
Wolverhampton (A.W)    7:45  View BetTurtle Racecard
Ran well until running out of steam over 2 miles last time and this return to 14 furlongs should see him go close for the in form Willie Haggas yard.

Back or Lay Tips

We review the chances of today's short priced runners with a view to backing or laying them. The Lay Of The Day is the horse we think represents poor value and has the most realistic chance of being beaten today.
  4 Lough Salt  6/4
  Wetherby    1:10  View BetTurtle Racecard
Won as he liked on seasonal return and open to significant improvement with conditions to suit.

  1 Geordie Des Champs  7/4
  Chepstow    1:40  View BetTurtle Racecard
Has to concede weight to a number of unexposed rivals and worth opposing at such short odds.

  1 Apterix  3/2
  Wetherby    2:50  View BetTurtle Racecard
Impressed on 2nd chase start when winning a Sedgfield class 3. Obvious form choice, but a short price conceding weights to a couple of worthy rivals.

  4 Passing Call  7/4
  Wetherby    3:25  View BetTurtle Racecard
Lost by 2 lengths to Shearing on debut and receives weight from that rival today. Not guaranteed to turn the form around and a few others in this that could spoil the party.

Winning Money With BetTurtle Racecards

We think our race cards are brilliant (we may be a little bit biased) and we are determined to help everyone that uses BetTurtle to learn their power. Here are a few handy tips to increase your chances of profit.
  1. The Horseshoes help you filter the best horses in the race. In general, too much RED and you should avoid the horse. The exceptions are for horses from Shrewd trainers (Gold Stars next to their name), hot trainers or jockeys (names with RED backgrounds) and horses that have attracted market support (GREEN horseshoe).
  2. The horseshoes may change through the racing day, as the vibes and markets change. Click on the STATS button and select the RATINGS tab for a live summary view of the horseshoes and a set of rosettes that show the horses we think are most likely to win at that moment in time based on form, current odds and racecourse vibes.
  3. Watch out for Shrewd Trainers (Gold Stars next to their names) , as they are trainers who have a habit of winning at decent odds in certain types of races.
  4. In the main, avoid cold trainers and jockeys (names with BLUE backgrounds) unless there is market support (GREEN market horseshoe).
  5. Be wary of our win tips if the market horseshoe is RED.
  6. Click the STATS and FORM buttons to see a wealth of information that can help you further.
  7. Hot trainers and jockeys (names with RED backgrounds) are enjoying an unusually high winner strike rate in the past few weeks and should always be considered.
