Winning a Class 1 race is the dream of most jockeys and trainers, but only a few succeed. Below are those that have been most successful in Class 1 Hurdle races in the last 2 years.

Trainer Analysis

It is no surprise that trainers Nicky Henderson and Willie Mullins prove to be the trainers to follow at Cheltenham over hurdles in the top races with 9 and 6 winners respectively.

Both trainers have shown a decent profit with Cheltenham runners. Irish trainer Henry De Bromhead has made the most profit £393 to £10 stakes and boasts a healthy 14.29% strike rate.

Elsewhere, Paul Nicholls with a £142 profit at Sandown and Philip Kirby £130 profit at Wetherby with a 75% strike rate should be considered.

Jockey Analysis

Barry Geraghty has posted the most winners at Cheltenham with 6 and a £55 profit. Regular rider for Nicky Henderson, Nico De Boinville, has been by far the most profitable jockey to follow recording a £520 SP profit with his 5 winners. Irish rider Rachel Blackmore has also done well with a £393 profit.

Elsewhere, Sam Twiston-Davies at Haydock (£240) , Harry Cobden at Sandown ( £172) and Nico de Boinville at Kempton (£120) would have provided further profitable angles.

Nicky Henderson has had 19 class 2 winners in the past two years with a 25.33% strike rate and a profit of £206. In second place with 13 winners is Paul Nicholls, but with a -£81 loss.

Watch out for Nicky Henderson runners at Sandown, Newbury. Haydock and Ascot.

Elsewhere, Fergal O'Brien does well with his runners at Cheltenham is Class 2 races with a 25% strike rate and £71 profit.

Jockeys

Richard Johnson (14) and Harry Cobden (12) are the most successful jockeys.

Watch out for Richard Johnson at Newbury where he has generated a £210 profit with his rides there.

Four trainers stand-out in Class 3 races, Nicky Henderson (25), Philip Hobbs (21), Dan Skelton (21) and Paul Nicholls (19).

Watch out for Paul Nicholls at Ascot £101 profit, Dan Skelton at Wetherby £173 and Uttoxeter £159 and Philip Hobbs at Exeter £43 profit.

Jockeys

The top four jockeys are Richard Johnson (21), Harry Skelton (20), Nico de Boinville (18) and Brian Hughes (18).

Look out for Harry Skelton at Uttoxeter £179 profit and Wetherby £73 and Tom Cannon at Fontwell £255 profit.

Dan Skelton is by far the most successful in Class 4 and below hurdle races with 116 winners and a 20.53% strike rate. Interestingly backing all of Philip Hobbs 68 winners and 24% strike rate and Fergal O'Brien horses 64 and 23.4% in these type of races would have given a profit of £895.

Watch out for Donald McCain with 19 winners, a 25% strike rate and a profit of £288 at Bango-on-Dee, Gary Moore at Fontwell with a £192 profit and Philip Kirby at Sedgefield with a £403 profit.

Jockeys

Brian Hughes (125), Richard Johnson (112) and Harry Skelton (91) have had the most winners.

Brian Hughes is at his most profitable at Bangor-On-Dee (£267), Carlisle (£58) and Cartmel (£166). At Chepstow keep an eye on Adam Wedge (£689), Fontwell Joshua Moore (£375) and at Huntingdon Kielan Woods (£395) and Jonjo O'Neill Jr (£397).

Also Harry Cobden has 13 winners and a 52% strike rate at Wincanton for an £89 profit.
