How To Use The Racecard Icons

horse profile icons 2

To make it quick and easy to analyse the form and preferences for a horse in a race, BetTurtle provides a number of icon popups to allow you to delve deeper.

The following is a guide on what each icon provides and some guidelines on how to best use the information to analyse a race.

Form Icon (i)

i_icon.png

The form icon provides a form snapshot of the horses last six races.

Watch out for performances with stars (a good or improved performance), a cup (a run at a top course) and a key (the race has had a high percentage of subsequent winners), as these can highlight the races where form and speed ratings are more reliable.

In the Form and Speed rating entries, green text shows a new top rating for the horse for today's race type (hurdles, chase, flat, etc). As an example from the image above, Kapcourse had an original best form rating for chases of 132 and bested that on the 1st Dec 2018 with a 152. A recent best form or speed rating suggests the horse may be improving and is obviously in form.

Other green or yellow text denotes the horse is running under the same or similar conditions.

Handicap Icon (h)

Handicap Icon

The handicap icon provides a graph showing the evolution of the horses handicap rating for each type of race over time. This is useful to spot the official handicap marks a horse has won at and whether the horse is improving or declining.

Hover the mouse left to right across the graph to see details of each race.

Hover the mouse over the key colours denoting each race type to see the line for the race type more easily.

Going Icon (g)

Going Icon

The going icon provides a graph showing the performance of the horse over different going types. The popup title shows today's going (use the key at the bottom of the popup to see the going type).

This is useful to compare today's going with past performances for the horse on different types of going.

In the example from the image above, today's going is good, but the horses best performances have been on softer going and this may be a warning sign.

Distance Icon (d)

Distance Icon

The distance icon provides a graph showing the performance of the horse over different distances. The popup title shows today's distance.

This is useful to compare today's distance with past distance performances for a horse. It is particularly useful to spot unexposed horses likely to improve with changes in distance.

In combination with the going icon, it is useful to compare the best form rating the horse has achieved under today's conditions and compare this to the form rating we have allocated the horse on today's racecard. If both ratings are similar then confidence is high the rating is accurate.

Other Icons

The other icons provide quick access to the various stats for the horses conditions preferences (graph icon), trainer stats (t), jockey stats (t), sire stats (s) and owner stats (o).
